I've been using a regular old monitor for my work computer for years now. But I decided I'd try using a gaming monitor connected to my work PC.
You know, the ones with all the bells and whistles like ultra-wide viewing angles, high refresh rates, and in-built speakers. So, I swapped out the plain old monitor for a gaming monitor to see if it would make my everyday computing experience any better. Here's what happened.
First off, let me just say that the picture quality on this thing is impeccable. I don't know how I ever went without an ultra-wide viewing angle before.
Everything looks so clear and sharp, and the colors are so vibrant. I definitely noticed a difference in the quality of my work—especially when I was editing photos or watching videos.
The high refresh rate was also nice. I didn't think it would make that big of a difference, but it really does make scrolling through web pages and Facebook feeds smoother and more seamless.
It's hard to go back to a regular monitor now that I've experienced the wonders of a high refresh rate for everything!
The in-built speakers were nice, too. They don't pack quite as much of a punch as my dedicated speaker system, but they're definitely good enough for casual listening or watching videos.
